The new albums are killer! Love the meditation album...I think that's a
great niche for you and I'm going to send this disc to the Hearts of Space
radio program if you don't. Some of the chanting leaned towards the freaky
in Christa's opinion...but I thought it was terrific.
I’m pretty sure these guys don’t consider themselves a “live” band — hanging out at the 400
with a cigarette and a beer and grooving to BOZO adagio would be sort of like
listening to David Lee Roth sing the liturgy. As it so happens, Magic Music borrows
traditional Christian chants (your basic “Allelujah,” “Dona nobis pacem,” “Amen,” etc.) for
the lyrics that comprise the backbone around which the entire ethereal, meditative album is
constructed. Producer and keyboardist Mark Browning Milner employs a small choir, an organ
and several Eastern effects to achieve the beautiful, trancelike sound of all five 15-minute
tracks. Milner invites a listener to use the album as background music or to actively
chant and breathe along. Ahhhh...
This new one is like meditation candy. I relax a lot and can even sing along
if I like. It was nice of you to print the lyrics. It has been a long time since I inhaled
and exhaled to "everything in harmony", but it helps just as much now as it did then.
